Chair, EGN

Pim Kuit facilitates peer groups in the areas of Leadership and Executive Search. With 25 years of experience in executive roles across banking and insurance, he brings a grounded, real-world perspective to the table – one shaped by the belief that today’s leaders need more than business acumen; they need social, emotional, and spiritual intelligence too.

Pim says:

My background is in Business Administration and Finance, with several study programs completed at Nyenrode University. Over 25 years I held Sales Director positions at an insurance company, a national insurance broker, and a bank. That experience means I recognise the challenges my peer group members face – not from a textbook, but from having lived them. Today, leadership demands so much more than it used to. You need to know who you are, what you want to leave behind, and what your place is in the world. That’s the lens I bring to every conversation at the table.

The atmosphere in my peer group meetings is informal, safe, and often humorous, but always professional and built on trust. Every meeting starts with a check-in where we look back at the previous session and share what happened since. Members come prepared with dilemmas and topics for the meeting ahead. That structure creates continuity and makes it easier for people to open up, because they know the room is ready for them.

When the network makes a difference

My personal drive is simple: I want to make people better. I want to share my experience, connect peers so they can learn from one another, and send everyone home full of inspiration after each meeting. I remember one meeting where a member was struggling with a serious problem in their working relationship with their director. Through the peer consultation session, we worked through it together – and it got resolved. At the next meeting, that member brought a personal gift for everyone in the room as a token of appreciation. That moment said everything about what a peer group can do.
