About the workshop

Join us for this EGN Thailand inspiration meeting on June 26th at 7.30-11.00 AM in Central Bangkok.

Meet Albert “Al” Valentine, Ph.D. in this active workshop

“The Only Constant in Life Is Change.”- Heraclitus

The quote above, which is attributed to the Ancient Greek philosopher Heraclitus, observed that the natural world was in a constant state of movement. Leaders need to understand that of the many tasks that you are responsible for, on an hourly basis, CHANGE is one of the most important. All leaders need to understand, embrace, and know this about change: 70% of your attempts at change or transformation will end up failing.

What happens when leaders do not embrace change or do not understand the magnitude of how to implement the change process? I would like you to purchase a Kodak digital camera (let’s not forget that it was Kodak who invented the digital camera in the 1970s).

This session will cover the following topics:

Short overview of leadership (“Everything starts and ends with leadership”)

                         Forces and Events for Change

                         Cycles of Change

The “Big I vs the small i”

                         Change Models

                         Organizational Culture

Bob Grossman, MD, is chief executive officer of NYU Langone Health and dean of NYU Grossman School of Medicine.
Grossman said the key to his successful transformation of NYU Langone Health was

understanding the aspirations of the institution and aligning the strategy with those aspirations. It is very difficult. It does not happen overnight. It is a marathon.”

This quote comes from the book, World Class: A Story of Adversity, Transformation, and Success at NYU Langone Health, an absolute gem to read about true transformation!

NB: The event is limited to 30 participants. Registration is required, and seats are available on a first come, first served basis.

We point out that only EGN members subsequently have access to the event materials.
