“Digital Sustainability: Tech for Good”

In our increasingly interconnected world, technology has become deeply woven into the fabric of our businesses and daily lives. While this digital transformation offers incredible opportunities for innovation and growth, it also presents us with a new set of challenges and responsibilities. For business professionals like yourselves, navigating this digital landscape requires a nuanced understanding of its impact. We’re facing critical questions, such as:

  • How can we harness the power of technology while minimizing its environmental footprint?
  • How do we ensure our digital products and services are accessible and inclusive?
  • How can we leverage technology to drive positive social change and contribute to a more equitable future?
  • And perhaps most importantly, how do we integrate sustainability into our core business strategies, moving beyond mere “greenwashing” to create genuine, long-term value?

These are complex issues, and there are no easy answers. Today, we’ll delve into these challenges, exploring the multifaceted nature of digital sustainability and its connection to the broader Tech for Good movement. Also give examples from PALO IT in how we address these challenges and cases of how we use tech for good.

Learning outcomes:

By the end of this session, you will:

  • Understand what digital sustainability is and understand its core principles.
  • Learn about the key environmental and social impacts of digital technologies.
  • Explore practical strategies and tools for reducing your organization’s digital footprint.
